WELCOMING GUESTS BEGINNING MAY 2019

The River Rail Cottage  is the perfect adult getaway.  It sits on 1.75 acres across from the Delaware River in the quiet village of Mill Rift, PA and is conveniently located 90 miles from NYC and 5 miles from  the train station and bus  stop.

Enjoy our in-ground pool, fire pit, lawn games, a book on the front porch or just relax along the river.  Private river access is less than a two minute walk.

No matter the season, the tri-state area of PA, NY & NJ offers plenty of activities:  rafting down the Delaware, hiking to High Point Monument, motorcycle riding through the Hawks Nest, fishing, eagle watching, golfing, horseback riding, antique shopping, cycling, and so much more.

We are now taking reservations for stays beginning  Memorial Day weekend, May 24, 2019.

River Trips

We are conveniently located  two miles from three major launches where guests may enjoy a day of rafting, canoeing , kayaking or tubing.  Click here to book your complete package.

Hiking

Enjoy hiking the many local trails that will bring you to some of the most beautiful local sites. Stairway Lake, The Knob, High Point Monument and many of the amazing waterfalls.

Horseback Riding

Serene Horse Ranch welcomes guests for trail riding on over 300 acres of private trails, and direct trailhead access to over 5,000 acres of wilderness in the NJ State Flat Brook recreation area

Sightseeing & Events

Spend the day taking in all the local sites.  There are plenty of museums, monuments and historic sites to keep you busy.  Seasonally, there are several festivals:  Milford Music, Black Bear Film, Port Jervis Fall Foliage, Arts Walk and more.

Motorcycle Rides

The famous Hawks Nest is the perfect start to the perfect ride.  Its winding road along the Delaware River will lead you through the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway which offers restaurants, shops, museums and historical sites.

Skiing & Snow Tubing

A 45 minute drive will bring you to one of the many ski areas for a day of skiing, snowboarding or tubing.

Cycling

The surrounding area leads you to both road and gravel routes  and destinations for all level of cyclists.  Bring your own bike or rentals are available through Action Bikes and Outdoor

Fishing

Enjoy good times casting lines along the banks of the Delaware River.  License required and easily obtained  nearby.

Golfing

Enjoy 18 holes at the Lynx at River Bend or High Point Country Club.  Both  offer rentals for last minute tee times.

Eagle Watching

The Delaware River is home  to the majestic American Eagles who can often be seen soaring overhead or perched high above the river's edge.  Watchers may also sign up  for The Delaware Highlands Conservancy  eagle watching bus tour.

Dining

Whether you're looking for light fare or a big feast, you will surely find something to please your palette.  The area is filled with plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Shopping

Stroll the streets of downtown Milford, PA or Port Jervis, NY and you will come across quaint shops filled with antiques, art and more..

RATES

One Bedroom with Queen Bed / Sofa Bed / 1 Bath

January - April

Weekdays - $100.00 per night

Weekends - $125.00 per night

May - October

Weekdays - $120.00 per night

Weekends - $150.00 per night
 

Rates will increase by  $15.00 per night  beginning May, 2020.

November - December

Weekdays - $100.00 per night

Weekends - $125.00 per night

  • Rates are based on double occupancy and do not include sales tax.
  • Holiday rates vary.  Please call for details.
  • 2 Night Minimum.  If requesting a shorter stay, please call to check availability.
  • 3 Night Minimum for holiday weekends
  • $45 per night for each additional overnight guest -4 guests total for overnight stays
  • $25 per day for each additional day guest - 2 day guests maximum
  • Refundable Security Deposit:  $250.00
  • Cleaning Fee:  $50.00
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • River Rail Cottage is for adults 25+.
  • Subletting reservation not permitted.
  • Smoking permitted outdoors only.
  • Check In:  3:00pm.  Check Out:  11:00am
  • Greeted Check In:  Prior to 7:00pm
  • Please note:  Cottage is located in front of Erie Railroad tracks.  Train will go by once a day; times will vary.
     
  • Cancellation Policy:  
    • Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.
