Welcome To River Rail Cottage

Welcome to River Rail Cottage; the perfect adult getaway. It’s nestled high in the mountains less than 4 miles from town and is across the street from the Delaware River. It is located two miles from Kittatinny and Indian Head Canoes and close to hiking, skiing, biking, breweries, wineries, shopping, sightseeing and historic Milford, PA.

Enjoy the in-ground pool, cozy hot tub made for two, fire pit, outdoor games or fishing in the Delaware. River access is less than a two minute walk.

The Space

Light, bright and airy best describes the cottage. Inside, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen ready for them to cook the breakfast food provided, a smart TV in both the living room and bedroom, electric fireplace, games, books and a digital guest guide that includes information and discounts for local dining and activities. Outside, guests can enjoy a swim in the pool, soaking in the hot tub for two, sitting around the fire pit, playing outdoor games or dining on the patio. A barbecue grill  and propane are provided. There is also a commercial grade ice machine and coolers for use free of charge.

Guests will also be provided with an area in the garage to store bikes, kayaks, skis, etc..

    • We are conveniently located  two miles from three major launches where guests may enjoy a day of rafting, canoeing , kayaking or tubing. ​

  • Hiking

    • Enjoy hiking the many local trails that will bring you to some of the most beautiful local sites. Stairway Lake, The Knob, High Point Monument and many of the amazing waterfalls.​

  • Horseback Riding

    • Serene Horse Ranch welcomes guests for trail riding on over 300 acres of private trails, and direct trailhead access to over 5,000 acres of wilderness in the NJ State Flat Brook recreation area​

  • Site Seeing & Events

    • ​Spend the day taking in all the local sites.  There are plenty of museums, monuments and historic sites to keep you busy.  Seasonally, there are several festivals:  Milford Music, Black Bear Film, Port Jervis Fall Foliage, Arts Walk and more.

    • Stroll the streets of downtown Milford, PA or Port Jervis, NY and you will come across quaint shops filled with antiques, art and more.​

    • ​Whether you're looking for light fare or a big feast, you will surely find something to please your palette.  The area is filled with plenty of restaurants to choose from.

  • Motorcycle Riding

    • The famous Hawks Nest is the perfect start to the perfect ride.  Its winding road along the Delaware River will lead you through the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway which offers restaurants, shops, museums and historical sites.

  • Eagle Watching

    • ​The Delaware River is home  to the majestic American Eagles who can often be seen soaring overhead or perched high above the river's edge.  Watchers may also sign up  for The Delaware Highlands Conservancy  eagle watching bus tours.

  • Dining

    • Whether you're looking for light fare or a big feast, you will surely find something to please your palette.  The area is filled with plenty of restaurants to choose from.​

  • Fishing

    • Enjoy good times casting lines along the banks of the Delaware River.  License required and easily obtained  nearby.​

  • Skiing & Snow Tubing

    • A 45 minute drive will bring you to one of the many ski areas for a day of skiing, snowboarding or tubing.​

  • Golfing

    • Enjoy 18 holes at the Lynx at River Bend or High Point Country Club.  Both  offer rentals for last minute tee times.​

  • Cycling

    • ​The surrounding area leads you to both road and gravel routes  and destinations for all level of cyclists.
